Abstract
This paper presents the outbreak of Richard Rorty’s work in the interpretations of Alicia Páez and Eduardo Rabossi, who played a pioneering role in the reception of the American pragmatist philosopher’s thought in Argentina. I present this reception, in turn, as part of what I call “the Rorty effect,” referring to the opening of the possibility for a critical and demanding dialogue between philosophical traditions.
