Abstract

This is an ongoing research on the publication of books with texts by the Brazilian communist political leader Carlos Marighella on armed struggle, urban guerrilla warfare and violence as instruments of political action. His writings, especially the Minimanual of the urban guerrilla (1969), had wide circulation, repercussion and political influence in the 1970s in Latin America and Europe, serving as a subsidy to groups such as the Rote Armee Frakti-RFA (West Germany), the Red Brigades (Italy) and the Popular Front for the Liberation of Palestine. Such influence caused Marighella to be considered at one point the most important guerrilla theoretician after Che Guevara. This research aims to show which are the editorial paths of Marighella's texts in Europe and which are the publishers that publish the author's books. The research is framed within the study of political publishing —the editorial activity that is intimately linked to political commitment.
