A collection and a refuge. Friendship, editing and exile in the first two years of the correspondence between Max Nettlau and Diego Abad de Santillán (1923-1924)

Abstract

The present article is based on the letters exchanged by Max Nettlau and Diego Abad de Santillan now guarded in the Max Nettlau Papers at the International Institute of Social History. Using these letters, the article presents a reconstruction of the history of Nettlau’s and Abad de Santillan’s friendship, their common intellectual projects and their depiction of Anarchist everyday life.
